President’s Letter

A letter from our President and Co-Founder Joseph L Rigby

Dear First Responders, Families, Agencies and Community Partners,

When First Responders of Mississippi was founded, it wasn’t just an idea after we saw a need—it was a calling. A calling born from years of service, sacrifice, and firsthand experience with the challenges faced by those who protect and serve. As a retired Lieutenant Colonel, I’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with men and women who give everything to keep others safe. I’ve seen the toll it takes—not just on the responder, but on their families, their health, and their hope.

That’s our why. We exist to serve those who serve. To be a lifeline when the weight of the job becomes too heavy. To remind you that you are not alone. We are here for you in your greatest time of need.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to support first responders, their families, and agency in times of crisis, transition, and healing. Whether it’s through medical challenges, mental health resources, emergency assistance, training, or community events, we are here to walk beside you to keep you well and whole.

This year, we’re proud to host several upcoming events that reflect our heart and our purpose:

First Responders Family Appreciation Day  📅 October 19, 2025 | 🕓 4–7 PM | 📍 Moseley Meadows
